As an Analyst in the Asset Management Middle Office team, you will collaborate with internal business and tech partners, global and regional functions, and external vendors and counterparties. You will encompass end-to-end middle office operations, including trade management, Investment Book of Record (IBOR), and vendor oversight. You will support the Front Office with Start of Day checks and Cash Management, ensuring close coordination with portfolio managers, dealers, brokers, operations teams, custodians, and service vendors for updates, issue follow-ups, and escalations. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate projects and changes to support business growth and process enhancements.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the IBOR to ensure any securities and cash position discrepancies are identified and escalated to the Portfolio Managers in a timely manner
- Collaborate with various stakeholders (portfolio managers, trading desk, business management, compliance, controls, risk, client service, operations, internal and external service providers) to design and drive comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements
- Partner with Client Onboarding Management teams to set up new products and design new operating models
- Oversee offshored and outsourced activity whilst ensuring performance and service levels are met
- Keep informed of market and regulatory changes impacting the businesses and ensure processes/controls are in place to support changes
- Manage projects and initiatives, such as process improvement, business model changes, system implementation, new product or new market initiatives rollouts, and other ad hoc projects
- Ensure that a highly robust 1st line control framework is put in place to avoid and mitigate trading and settlement risks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and hybrid environment, a “can do” attitude and the willingness to learn new applications in an ever-changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A strong team player, passionate, detail-minded and keen to develop career in Asset Management industry
- Excellent in excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Relevant experience in Middle Office or Operations is an advantage
- Prior experience in Asset Management industry will be a plus
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
- Hold Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) will be beneficial
