Job Description
Jefferies LLC is looking for a Business Manager / Associate for the Leveraged Finance Investment Banking group.
This position reports directly and supports the Global Head of Leveraged Finance and all senior bankers on a regular basis. He/she will primarily be responsible for managing the group's backlog, credentials, transaction historical data, quarterly Jefferies thought pieces on the Leveraged Finance market and tasks associated with supporting the Financial Sponsors Group, Private Capital Advisory and will directly interact with SMBC
The candidate must have strong written/verbal skills, organizational, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills. The Business Manager / Associate will develop a deep understanding of the Leveraged Finance Products offered by Jefferies LLC
The candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi, Dealogic, Covenant Review and Bloomberg
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the group’s backlog which includes; maintaining of historical, daily, weekly and quarterly revenue and subsequent charges reporting in Excel; committee approvals; updating information in the firm’s client management system; ad-hoc report requests and reconciling fees with other areas within IB Management and Capital Markets
- Prepare reports and presentations to Investment Banking Management and senior leaders in the Jefferies organization on the group’s revenue, market share and transactions
- Support the Global Head of Leveraged Finance in building out discussion materials and analysis to generate business ideas and long-term strategic initiatives
- Diligently track transactions part of the Jefferies / SMBC partnership
- Dealogic League Table: Tracking Leveraged Finance transactions completed by all banks to update Excel spreadsheets used in compiling league tables and head-to-head analyses quarterly and ad hoc reporting
- Credentials: Updating Leveraged Finance credentials in Powerpoint for new deals, league table updates and new hires.
Required Background and Desired Skills:
- Understanding of leveraged finance and/or direct lending experience preferred
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Dealogic skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lead a variety of projects for different stakeholders simultaneously
- Resourceful self-starter; able to work autonomously, with minimal guidance
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability work in a fast-paced productive environment
- Team player and ability to confidently work with senior bankers on a daily basis
The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000
