Job Description

The Company: 

 

Jefferies Credit Partners (“JCP”) is a leading private credit manager and the asset management arm of Jefferies Finance LLC (“JFIN”). JFIN was founded in 2004 as a 50/50 joint venture between Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (“MassMutual”), a global, diversified life insurance and financial services organization, and Jefferies, a leader in global investment banking, to invest in middle market direct lending transactions. JCP launched a European private credit platform in mid-2024, Jefferies Credit Partners Europe Limited (“JCP Europe”), and has experienced rapid growth in the region since inception.

 

The Role: 

 

JCP Europe is seeking a motivated Associate to support the growth of its private credit platform in the UK and Europe. The individual will work with senior and junior members of the team in reviewing new investment opportunities and monitoring existing investments over time. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform underwriting due diligence on new investment opportunities, including industry research, company research and financial analysis
  • Prepare and sensitise financial models, including leveraged buyout and cash flow analysis
  • Perform market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases
  • Play a key role in completing and presenting screening memos and investment committee approval memos
  • Assist in preparation of pitch materials for clients
  • Assist with all operational aspects of a transaction from initial review through closing/funding
  • Proactive management of existing investments, including preparation and presentation of periodic portfolio reviews, credit analysis of historical and projected performance, monitoring of industry trends and events, and processing amendment requests
  • Assist the firm with various business development projects as needed

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance and/or investment banking
  • Previous experience in a top tier private credit firm, bank or advisory firm
  • Educated to degree level, with a strong record of academic achievement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in additional European languages is highly desirable 
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial statement analysis, financial modeling, valuation and market research
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Outlook
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple assignments in an agile team
  • Teamwork oriented with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation 
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics
