Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a high-caliber Investment Banking Associate to join our Sydney-based team, with a preference for candidates bringing experience in the General Industrials sector.  The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of high-profile transactions in Australia, including M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory.  

The successful candidate will play a key role in deal execution while gaining exposure to senior leadership and participating in marquee transactions across the region. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions, equity and other financial advisory services. 
  • Conduct industry research, financial analysis, and valuation assessments to assist in client pitches and transaction processes.
  • Prepare detailed financial models, pitch books, and presentation materials for client meetings and transactions.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, manage data rooms, and liaise with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure deal execution is seamless.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm's presence in the region.
  • Assist in mentoring and training junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Relevant experience in investment banking, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions.
  • Experience working on end-to-end transactions.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
