Job Description
The M&A team plays a pivotal role in advising clients on strategic transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate advisory mandates, offering high‑touch service, differentiated sector expertise, and strong execution.
The Opportunity
Jefferies’ London‑based M&A team is seeking Analyst / Junior Associate level candidates, who want to leverage their technical training in a dynamic and high‑deal‑flow environment. The team is known for leading end‑to‑end execution across sponsor‑backed buy‑side and sell‑side mandates, managing complex processes, and working closely with senior bankers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution
- Support and assist with leading the execution of M&A transactions from initial pitch through to closing.
- Manage workstreams across valuation, modelling, marketing materials, due diligence, and process coordination.
- Prepare transaction documentation including teasers, CIMs, management presentations, and board materials.
Financial Analysis & Modelling
- Build and review detailed financial models to evaluate transactions, run valuation scenarios, and assess financial impact.
- Apply ACA-honed analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and produce actionable insights.
Industry & Market Research
- Conduct market, sector, and company research to identify potential targets, understand trends, and support strategic recommendations.
Client Interaction & Communication
- Interact with clients to gather information, understand strategic objectives, and support negotiations.
- Prepare and deliver clear, compelling client presentations summarizing opportunities, valuation work, and recommendations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams (legal, compliance, product groups) and external stakeholders (lawyers, accountants, advisors) to ensure seamless execution.
Analyst / Associate level requirements
- Strong preference for ACA‑Qualified candidates with experience in audit, transaction services, valuations, corporate finance, or financial due diligence who are seeking a transition into, or to continue their journey in investment banking.
- Strong financial modelling skills and advanced analytical capability.
- Experience in M&A (Analyst: at least 12 months; Associate: 2 – 4+ years).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client‑facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure deal environment.
- High attention to detail, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to think critically.
