Job Description

Your Team

You will be part of the Internal Audit function based in Hyderabad, supporting global audit activities. The team works closely with IT and business stakeholders across regions to assess risks, strengthen controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOX and other Risk Based Audits.

Your Role

The Assistant Manager IT Internal Audit will support the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, IT General Controls (ITGC), IT Application Controls (ITAC), and other internal audit engagements. The role involves evaluating control design and operating effectiveness, identifying control gaps, and partnering with stakeholders to enhance risk management and control frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and execute SOX testing and internal audits in line with Internal Audit standards and agile auditing principles
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of ITGCs, ITACs, and key reports (IPE)
  • Perform walkthroughs, document processes, and develop audit procedures
  • Identify control deficiencies and work with stakeholders to define remediation actions
  • Review control narratives, risk assessments, and testing strategies for completeness and accuracy
  • Support system implementation reviews by assessing risks and advising on appropriate controls
  • Partner with global IT and business teams to strengthen governance, risk, and compliance practices
  • Coordinate with external auditors (Big 4) for testing and documentation support
  • Prepare high-quality audit workpapers and clearly communicate audit observations

The Experience You Bring

  • 24 years of experience in IT audit, SOX compliance, IT risk, or information security
  • Strong understanding of ITGC, ITAC, and SOX 404 testing requirements
  • Experience in walkthroughs, control testing, and audit documentation
  • Knowledge of areas such as cloud computing, databases, SDLC, and IT security frameworks (e.g., COBIT)
  • Exposure to agile methodologies and global delivery environments preferred
  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams

Academic requirements

  • Bachelors degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent (or actively pursuing) preferred

Skills

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments within deadlines
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Attention to detail with strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
