Full Job Description

ING is on the hunt for an experienced Governance and Controls Analyst to join our dynamic team based in Sydney. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in our Sydney (60 Margaret St) office.

As our Governance and Controls Analyst, youll be responsible for supporting the Governance and Controls Lead in the implementation and ongoing governance of the Australia KYC Program. This includes reporting to both local and global stakeholders. Youll also responsible for ensuring implementation of the KYC Policy across the 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) to ensure compliance to local and global Policies. In addition, supporting the wider 1LOD in facilitating AML Risk Assessments using both local and global methodologies to ensure risks are appropriately identified, managed and mitigated.

Your key focus will be understanding our Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy, along with AML/FEC guidelines, to ensure compliance with local and global policies and regulations. The role may also involve supporting remediation and improvement initiatives across KYC Australia and within the greater ING group.

This is an 'AML sensitive' role and appointment to this role is subject to applicants satisfying the requirements of INGs AML Policy prior.


What youll do

  • Support and undertake regular review and assessment of AML/KYC risks to identify risks related to type of customers, industries, countries, products, services, transactions and distribution channels that could give rise to FEC.
  • Work effectively with the Compliance, Risk Management and business stakeholders to ensure risk is identified and managed at an appropriate level and within agreed criteria.
  • Report and track issues, events and Key Control Testing in line with ING Australia NFR Framework.
  • Raise knowledge gaps and help to improve overall capability by raising awareness of the risks and controls to manage KYC risks.
  • Enhancement and capability uplift in tools, processes, and reporting to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Supporting remediation and improvement initiatives across KYC Australia and within the greater ING group

  • Solid understanding of AML/CTF regulatory requirements and legislation.
  • Awareness of Operational Risk Management.
  • Excellent conflict resolution & negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
