The Corporate Finance team is part of the larger INGs Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) business area.

As Analyst, you will be part of the Early Career Group (ECG) within CMA, providing junior talent the opportunity to learn more about core and client facing areas of CMAs business area. The aim of this program is to upskill talent and prepare you for future roles in our organization.

As part of your career path within the CMA business area, you will do two rotations of six months each within the first 3 years in two of the other CMA teams (Global Capital Markets, Loan Distributions, Corporate Investments and Acquisition Finance teams), responsible for the origination, execution, and distribution of CMA transactions. While part of the Early Career Group you will receive high quality on-the-job trainings for both hard and soft skills which will ensure you a well-equipped to become a future, rounded CMA banker.

Your Duties and Responsibilities comprise tasks, such as

  • Origination: (a) drafting marketing materials including pitch books and presentations; (b) detailed equity/debt analysis of client/targets/situation including valuation analysis (as relevant); (c) market research, competitor analysis and appropriate capital structure reviews (as relevant); (d) identification of potential buyers universe.
  • Deal execution (a) valuation, pricing, and/or financial analysis (as relevant); (b) key transaction administration (dataroom, Q&A, meeting coordination etc.) and/or deal documentation (e.g. term sheets, mandate letters, facility agreements); (c) Day-to-Day process coordination and communication with clients and other advisers; (d) assistance in the drafting of transaction documentation; (e) processing of documents for internal project approvals.
  • Staying on top of current market developments and preparing market and (pricing) updates.
  • Day to day support of (senior) originators in all aspects of client advisory and coverage.
  • Liaising closely with colleagues in other CMA departments to deliver integrated solutions to INGs clients.
  • Assisting teams in maintaining relevant databases, filing systems and presentation templates.
  • Any other ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
  • Build knowledge of the activities and personnel of key clients, equity and debt products available in the market and how corporate finance, leveraged finance, loan underwriting and distribution, capital markets, and corporate investments each work.
  • Proper record keeping, preparing transaction files for compliance and other internal control purposes. Ensure you and your team complies with all legal, regulatory and ethical standards including ING policies, procedures and Orange Code.

The Team, The Role, and Your Tasks

  • You will become an analyst in the Brussels Corporate Finance team & be involved in Belgian & cross border Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets and Debt Advisory transactions within a challenging professional corporate environment.
  • ING Corporate Finance - a leading Belgian Corporate Finance house - employs c. 10 professional advisors. As part of a deal team, you will get into contact with key decision takers at a broad range of medium & large companies, financial sponsors as well as other external advisors, such as law firms, auditors and other corporate finance houses.

You recognize yourself in the following

  • Masters Degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or any other relevant field such as civil engineer with an additional degree (MBA/Finance or other relevant education).
  • Up to 5 years of professional experience in an analytical function within the financial sector/consultancy/audit with commercial affinity strong preference for Corporate Finance experience.
  • Excellent analytical & modelling skills with a strong focus on quality.
  • Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills and ability to present in a coherent, convincing and confident manner.
  • Pro-active mentality with a strong work ethic, flexibility of approach, the willingness to work under tight timelines, the ability to multi-task and with an attention for detail.
  • Enthusiastic team player with high level of self-motivation and professionalism with ability to multi-task.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Dutch and French.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable          

  • CFA Level 1.
