Role Overview

Liquidnet is seeking a experienced professional with deep electronic execution expertise and strong relationships in European markets. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing new opportunities cross-selling our Electronic trading business and improving engagement from existing clients.  

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in electronic trading sales, extensive technical knowledge of algorithms and trading strategies. They will also have well-established relationships across asset management, market participants, and brokerage firms. They will be instrumental in driving growth, expanding market presence, and positioning Liquidnet as leading electronic trading provider globally.

The role reports to the EMEA Head of Business Development, who is tasked with growing the revenue of the Liquidnet business, across Equities and Mult-Asset, and across the arious business channels, including Electronic and & Quantitative Services (EQS)

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Drive revenue growth by working with transactional teams to increase the adoption of Liquidnets EQS products and services with existing clients

  • Work with the sales teams to created & update EQS collateral

  • Increasing Liquidnets client base in the region and re-engaging the firm with dormant accounts.

  • Help drive the development of messaging, client engagement and the Liquidnet brand in region

  • Work with the Listed derivatives team to find and develop cross-selling opportunities

  • Work with client-facing and product teams to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative offerings

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Liquidnet products with awareness of new developments and launches (outside of just EQS)

  • Work within the Business Development structure to proactively prospect new opportunities and ensure relevant EQS stakeholders are kept informed of progress and key developments.

Strategic Leadership & Execution

Work with key stakeholders to:

  • Develop Liquidnets client strategy for EQS alongside the Head of EQS

  • Integrate liquidity, products, services, and distribution channels to optimize access for existing, dormant, and prospective clients

  • Help drive innovation by proposing new products, services, and revenue diversification initiatives

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Strengthen relationships with asset managers, brokers, and market participants to enhance engagement and client satisfaction

  • Attend industry conferences, network with key stakeholders, and represent Liquidnet at academic and professional forums

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Deep knowledge of electronic trading and algorithmic trading strategies

  • Proven experience in managing revenues and delivering results that have strong revenue stories

  • Proven experience in building and managing execution business

  • Strong relationships/experience with buy side clients, sell side and Exchanges in EMEA and globally

  • Expert knowledge of Equities market structure, workflows and challenges

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services and trading platforms, related product offerings, competitors, and overall market dynamics

  • Outstanding organisational, interpersonal and people management skills, with exceptional leadership abilities

  • Able to work well in and across teams while also having the capacity to exercise judgement and due diligence to work independently within an organization

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, both written and oral

  • Passionate, enthusiastic and driven with strong personal work ethic to bring positive energy to the team Desirable

  • Knowledge of different asset classes across equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, digital, delta 1, structured, energy and commodities
