HSBC’s International Middle Market (IMM) team, which sits within the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business, is looking to add an energetic and driven individual to join the business. This individual will be responsible for a book of business covering the Washington DC metro area.

As our Vice President, Global Relationship Manager, you will:

  • Serve as the go-to advisor for acquiring, retaining, and growing large and middle-market corporate banking client relationships
  • Identify and meet customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services
  • Build existing and win new long-term relationships with customers with an eye toward revenue expansion, pipeline momentum, relationship profitability, prospecting, portfolio development, pricing strategy, and RFP proposal/presentation delivery
  • Own customer engagement, ensuring service excellence for all aspects of any customer. Collaborate with product partners to identify and match customer needs with relevant expertise, notably with trade, cash management, and investment banking and markets
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including c-suite executives, senior management and industry professionals in the Duration, Valuation and Momentum (DVM) market
  • Lead, inspire and motivate junior colleagues to ensure a flawless relationship management service is delivered
  • Support development of a positive, collaborative culture

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a related field
  • Strong experience in commercial lending and risk assessment
  • Experience matching commercial banking products and services to customer needs
  • Corporate credit assessment and analysis skillset
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with an ability to build long term workplace relationships
  • Proven experience in similar positions, working with international companies and identifying product opportunities with corporate clients and seeing them through to a successful implementation
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects & engagements
  • Corporate banking product knowledge across Treasury/Cash Management, Foreign Exchange Trade Finance and Capital Markets
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance processes
  • SIE & FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses are required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager’s discretion
