If youre looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Senior Associate Director Technical Product Management
In this role, you will:
  • Set and communicate product vision, goals, and measurable outcomes (OKRs/KPIs).
  • Build and continuously refine a customer- and strategy-led roadmap grounded in technical reality.
  • Own backlog prioritisation and write high-quality user stories, including acceptance criteria and NFRs.
  • Drive discovery (problem framing, hypotheses, MVPs) and iterate based on learning and evidence.
  • Balance feature delivery with platform health: reliability, security, performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership through architecture guardrails, standards alignment, and design reviews.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery: agile ways of working, dependency/impediment management, and transparent stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure production readiness and measurable outcomes: safer/faster releases, improved engineering metrics, reduced debt, and stronger resilience/observability with engaged teams.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven Product Owner/Technical Product Owner experience delivering complex technology products.
  • Strong backlog management and prioritisation, with effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Comfortable in agile/lean environments, driving iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Strong engineering background across modern architectures (microservices, APIs, event-driven, cloud, data platforms).
  • Solid architecture fundamentals: distributed systems, integration patterns, security-by-design, performance, and resilience.
  • Able to translate technical constraints into clear product decisions and explain them to non-technical audiences.
  • Influential leader who coaches teams, creates clarity in ambiguity, makes trade-offs, and owns outcomes.
  • Desirable strengths: regulated/risk & controls awareness, DevSecOps/SRE/observability, legacy modernisation/migrations, relevant certifications, and a curious, pragmatic, action-oriented working style that values diverse perspectives.

Youll achieve more when you join HSBC.
