Full Job Description
Job title: Senior Manager Product Owner
- The ISO journey from 2025 pivots heavily into the client space as against the journey so far which was largely more banks, market infrastructures and SWIFT. HSBC will need to understand this impact either because its mandatory or because it will benefit the clients.
- In order to support the clients to get ready, there is a need to define strategy and framework and execute it. This will entail key components like testing, managing resources and working closely with development team for any fixes

In this role, you will:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- The transition to ISO 20022 requires extensive testing to ensure data accuracy and seamless functionality across all systems and stakeholders. With a wide range of financial messaging needs, ISO 20022 presents a highly complex landscape for testing and the role requires to create and execute such a framework focussing on testing with clients
- Support impact assessments, root cause analysis, and defect resolution related to message implementation.
- Ability to prioritize testing from the early stages of the migration process and adopts a structured approach to testing, including a well-defined test plan, test cases, and test data, is essential.
- Focused and driven to automated testing solutions which can significantly improve testing efficiency and coverage, allowing clientsto detect and resolve issues more effectively.
- Ensuring thorough mapping of Testing data which is a complex task to avoid errors can lead to data discrepancies and transaction failures
Leadership & Teamwork
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to connect with stakeholders across geographies.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English is expected.
- Ability to advise stakeholders regarding process improvement initiatives. Ability to present complex solutions in clear and concise language.
To be successful you will:
Functional Knowledge
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience in Transaction banking, preferably in Payments product.
- Proven experience in Project management, requirement analysis, business case development, risk management, marketing support.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex problems, interpret customer and/or operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Proven ability to run effective workshops and trainings for client business users.
- Strong aptitude with Data Analysis and Interpretation skills - the ability to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources, using multiple analysis techniques, reconcile variances and recommend proposals to senior and key stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root causes of problems and generate effective solutions. Alongside this, adaptability is key, as Strategic Business Change s must be able to pivot quickly in response to new information or changing circumstances, ensuring that the change process remains on track despite obstacles.

- The job holder must be proactive, able to comprehend, evaluate and offer clear, timely and reliable analysis and recommendations to directors and above, and communicate this effectively; an ability to develop a global network, build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels is required for success. A strong commercial acumen and product management experience including product commercialization and governance, or risk is imperative.
