Through Business Banking (BB) our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to- end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.
We are looking for a proactive and customer focused person to join our team in the role of Relationship Manager – Business Banking.
You will provide dedicated relationship management to a portfolio of customers with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. Relationship Managers may be located in fields of Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Global Banking, Private Banking or Product Sales.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clients virtually, managing a portfolio of c.150 clients, focussing on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
- Serving as an ambassador for HSBC and developing the bank’s profile in the wider community.
- Optimising existing relationships by assisting in the delivery of solutions, products and services appropriate to meet customer needs.
- Seeking new opportunities by nurturing existing relationships and identify new business possibilities.
- Building a network of business introducers in the business community.
- Adhering to structures and processes for the management of credit, operational, reputational, criminal and regulatory risk.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Experience of working in a Commercial Banking environment or similar.
- Commercial Lending experience.
- An ability to deliver excellent customer service while proactively seeking innovative ways to improve this service.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of effectively negotiating and influencing others.
- The ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
- An understanding of credit and risk with experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
This is a hybrid role based from Exeter and covering the surrounding area.
