Full Job Description
Role purpose
Provide support in the stewardship of the Treasury Risk Management of Mexico and Latin America with a focus on Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), to support effective risk management, by maintaining assessment mechanisms, oversight of stress testing calculations, governance and guidelines for management of IRRBB
Main activities
- Carry out the second line review, challenge and oversight of treasury activities in the region, in line with HSBCs Risk Management Framework and risk policy, to ensure comprehensive and effective risk management;
- Collaborate with First Line of Defense and other functions to successfully implement the operating model
- Act as risk manager for IRRBB, building a deep understanding of risk to articulate risk interaction across business lines
- Prepare of regular risk updates for governance committees
- Progress multiple ongoing projects as operating model and risk framework are embedded
- Support the development and enhancing of the risk appetite statements
- Keep abreast on the regulatory change in the region
Requirements
- Undergraduate in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Understanding of macroeconomic environment and investment market desirable.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Relevant IRRBB experience and/or actuarial qualification desirable.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong business analysis, problem solving and presentation (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to explain complicated issues in simple terms.
- Organized, delivery focused with a keen sense of attention to detail and capable of interpreting and analyzing complex information/ data and translating this into practical information and recommendations for management.
