Were currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Risk Officer.

A key aspect of the role is to deliver balanced risk decisions for Private Equity backed, industry agnostic leveraged proposals. The role encompasses support to be provided to the Senior Risk Officer in the wider leadership of Leverage Finance approvals, deputizing where appropriate.

In this role you will:

Evaluate, recommend and approve transactions and annual reviews within personal approval authority

Ensure prudent and well-structured credit proposals and minimise credit losses

Provide qualitative, meaningful input and formulate, recommend, implement and maintain credit policies, guidelines, standards and processes

Ensure all regulated requirements are enacted as business as usual

Responsible for implementing credit risk policies, procedures and standards

Responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day-to-day operations

Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

Demonstrate commercial credit skills, not only on a transaction basis but also credit process management

General knowledge of legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements

Specific knowledge of Private Equity backed/Leverage Finance transactions would be an advantage

Knowledge of local and regional landscape and external market forces

Well-rounded banking background particularly Corporate banking, credit and operational processes is preferred

Strong communication skills verbal and written

Management and Leadership skills
