Our Corporate Banking team serves some of the highest growth and internationally minded companies in the New Zealand marketplace. Corporate Banking supports companies with turnover of c$100m through to c$2bn, with a current client base that includes listed and privately held companies. The team has delivered outstanding results and is focused on providing consistently high levels of support to existing and new to HSBC clients, to continue this strong trajectory.
As a Global Relationship Manager, you will manage a portfolio of Corporate Banking clients, and be responsible for attracting new to bank clients to HSBC. You will work with high-quality corporate clients, developing a diversified portfolio, while being supported by an experienced high growth New Zealand team with opportunities for future growth.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing effective strategies to manage client relationships, anticipate client needs and provide a superior quality service to position HSBC as the partner of choice.
- Growing sustainable revenues through the targeted acquisition of new corporate banking customers, with a focus on international client acquisiton both locally and across the HSBC network.
- Structuring credit facilities to ensure an optimal balance between customer and HSBC interests, while maintaining prudent banking standards.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of external factors influencing international business (economic, cultural, geographical, political, procedural and regulatory.)
- Ensuring timely and accurate maintenance of deal and customer information on relevant Group systems.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in Corporate Banking, with a strong track record working with corporate clients.
- Solid market knowledge of the New Zealand corporate banking sector and network.
- Strong knowledge of product solutions, including trade and receivables finance and transactional banking.
- The ability to manage clients on a global basis, with the skills and adaptability to work with complex international clients (preferred but not mandatory and candidates with strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply).
- A genuine customer service focus to build strong and lasting relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders, with the desire and demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
- In-depth analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation and a disciplined approach to maintaining credit quality.
- Strong non-financial risk awareness, including an ability to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks, whilst always adhering to mandatory policies and procedures.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold New Zealand Citizenship/PR or Australian Citizenship, or who can show they currently have unrestricted work rights in New Zealand without limitations.
