We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Enterprise Architecture.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the Value Stream Lead Architect to define and deliver architectural roadmaps for UK Common Services, focusing on Service Enablement and Customer Comms.
  • Engage key stakeholders to shape strategic investment decisions and drive desired technology outcomes.
  • Promote adoption of CTO strategic platforms for new application hosting and AI enablement.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to align architecture with value-stream goals and delivery plans,
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through coding, design reviews, and assurance of critical solution implementations.
  • Assess emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Act as the technical point of contact, clearly communicating architectural decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations across agile, distributed teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal instructions (FIMs/GSMs/circulars) and external regulations, managing operational risk and ethical standards.

To be successful, you will:

  • Proven experience designing and integrating utilities such as workflow, case management, and document management solutions.
  • Strong track record defining and implementing architectural standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented problem-solver with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective in fast-paced, collaborative environments, managing ambiguity and providing clear technical direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence complex, multi-location teams and promote new ideas across the organisation.
  • Skilled at engaging both business and technology stakeholders, enabling cross-functional collaboration to deliver HSBC UK outcomes.
  • Resilient and tenacious, with strong influencing, negotiation, and persuasion capabilities.
