The Role

Join HSBCs GCOO team in UAE to drive and support banks Emiratization agenda in UAE. Youll partner with HR, Finance, Global Businesses, and Functions to deliver robust project management, project performance tracking, and clear reporting on OKRs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the Programme Director to deliver the end-to-end project lifecycle, achieving key milestones on time and within budget.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues effectively, producing clear, concise summaries and management-ready reporting.
  • Take a pragmatic, flexible approach to planning and prioritization of tasks, deliverables, and resources, adapt quickly to unforeseen change; apply a test-and-learn mindset, recommend better ways of working, and constructively challenge the status quo.
  • Manage material changes to scope, schedule, resourcing, or budget through formal change control processes; understand and champion design thinking across ideation and delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of complex business drivers and imperatives, applying critical thinking and structured problem-solving to bring discipline to large-scale, ambiguous challenges.
  • Build credibility through strong interpersonal skills, translating complex information into clear, influential messages; coordinate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders to secure timely decisions.
  • Drive change adoption to embed outcomes and realize benefits, combining strong programme/project management discipline with pace and quality of delivery.
  • Apply deep knowledge of risk and control taxonomy, including identification, ownership, management, and reporting of inherent and residual risks and control positions.
  • Own delivery of one or more global transformation projects from initiation to closure, using agreed delivery frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and appropriate tooling.
  • Define outcomes, success measures, and benefits realization plans; track progress, report transparently, and take corrective action where required.
  • Establish and run governance forums (e.g., SteerCo and working groups), producing high-quality packs, RAID logs, plans, financials, and status reports with clear narrative and explicit decisions required.
  • Build strong partnerships across global and regional stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, driving decisions, and maintaining alignment across boundaries.
  • Embed risk management and control-by-design, ensuring adherence to relevant policies, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements (refer to applicable FIM/departmental instructions as needed).
  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans (scope, schedule, resources, budget), manage dependencies and critical path, and drive execution at pace.
  • Partner with Change, Communications, and Training teams to deliver adoption, readiness, and sustainable change, managing impacts to operating model, processes, and people.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and (where applicable) vendor spend, ensuring value for money and transparent cost control.
  • Lead matrix teams, coach contributors, and foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that values different perspectives and delivers results.
  • Continuously improve delivery practices by simplifying, standardizing, and automating where possible; capturing lessons learned and embedding improvements.

In order to apply for the role you must have the following:

  • A graduation degree is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. If your university certificate is from outside the UAE, up-to-date attestations and equivalency are also mandatory (Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications Issued Outside The UAE) Demonstrated track record delivering large-scale, multi-workstream transformations within global, regulated environments.
  • Strong capability in project governance, integrated planning, RAID management, and executive-level reporting.
  • Highly effective stakeholder manager, able to secure decisions and maintain alignment across matrix organizations.
  • Sound understanding of financial services risk and control expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills, translating strategy into executable plans with clear, measurable outcomes.
  • Confident communicatorclear, concise, and able to tailor messages to different audiences and levels of seniority.
  • Experience delivering operating model change, process re-engineering (Lean/Six Sigma), and/or digital transformation.
  • Familiar with Agile delivery approaches (Scrum/Kanban) and hybrid delivery models.
  • Exposure to data-led initiatives, automation, and/or platform migration programmes.
  • Extensive project management experience, with evidence of delivering complex change, managing senior stakeholders, and working effectively across regions and functions.
