HSBC’s International Middle Market (IMM) team, which sits within the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business, is looking to add an energetic and driven individual to join the business. The new Associate Relationship Manager (“ARM”) will be a crucial member of our team covering Florida, helping support and grow the 100+ relationships that the Market Executive and three Global Relationship Bankers (“GRB’s”) in the region manage in order to meet the unique needs of these internationally focused clients that have revenues between $50mm and $2bn+.

The role will be performed from HSBC’s Miami office.

As our Associate Relationship Manager, you will:

  • Work closely with our GRB’s to identify and develop business opportunities, jointly formulate client engagement strategy to deepen HSBC’s global wallet share and grow revenues
  • Develop these relationships with both existing and prospective new customers
  • Identify both flow and event driven opportunities bringing in sector, country, and product expertise as appropriate
  • Assist GRBs with Client Plans and preparation of capital requests for submission to Strategic Client Origination / Credit & Capital Management
  • Monitor and update deal pipeline
  • Prepare and present sales pitch materials
  • Provide outstanding client service
  • Coordinate with internal colleagues within the customer service team (CST) including product partners in US, as well as Relationship Managers and Product Partners in other markets to ensure complete coverage of the portfolio from a local, regional, and global perspective
  • Research prospective clients in the state of Florida
  • Effectively managing credit, operational, regulatory and other risks by working closely the Bank’s Risk, Credit Management and Relationship Service Management teams
  • Ensure the bank maintains compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Maintain outstanding data quality in the bank’s internal systems
  • Be a strong team player

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong willingness to learn, positive attitude and a drive to succeed in this role and beyond
  • A client focused mindset with a “can do” attitude
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with an ability to build long term workplace relationships
  • Proven experience in similar positions, working with international companies and identifying product opportunities with corporate clients and seeing them through to a successful implementation
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects & engagements
  • Strong corporate banking product knowledge across Treasury/Cash Management, Foreign Exchange Trade Finance and Capital Markets
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance processes
  • Credit underwriting knowledge and experience
  • Strong Windows capabilities; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
