Houlihan Lokey’s Secondaries Advisory Group provides strategic advice and execution services to private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for private equity secondary transactions. The group specializes in both LP-led and GP-led transactions. Members of the Secondaries Advisory Group work with a wide variety of private equity sponsors and institutional investors - across both industry and strategy – and work in tandem with Houlihan Lokey’s industry coverage, M&A and financial & valuation advisory.

You will

  • Work side-by-side with a talented, dedicated staff of senior professionals who will provide broad exposure to the many different considerations affecting private equity liquidity needs;
  • Assist with evaluating and structuring customized financing alternatives for private equity sponsors, institutional investors, and their portfolio companies;
  • Gain hands-on transaction experience by playing an integral role on deal teams from the initial pitch through closing;
  • Prepare marketing materials and buyer diligence materials for LP-led and GP-led secondary transactions;
  • Support the transaction execution process, including the management of virtual data rooms, tracking buyer interactions and client communications, and coordinating buyer due diligence in competitive auction

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program with a focus on finance or management, at a top tier business school or university;
  • Experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems through data-driven analysis, combined with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Pro-active and resourceful attitude of solving problems independently, with the support of an experienced senior team;
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate a variety of different projects with an organized approach;
  • Solid understanding of private equity fundamentals, including current market dynamics, deal structures, and competitive landscape;
  • Fluency in French and English, additional languages are a plus;
  • Most importantly, a highly motivated, enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to work hard to meet the highest standards of performance.
