Houlihan Lokey’s Secondaries Advisory Group provides strategic advice and execution services to private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for private equity secondary transactions. The group specializes in both GP-led transactions—such as continuation vehicles, single- and multi-asset restructurings, and tender offers—as well as LP portfolio sales and fund interest transfers. Members of the Secondaries Advisory Group work with a wide variety of private equity sponsors and institutional investors - across both industry and strategy – and work in tandem with Houlihan Lokey’s industry coverage, M&A and financial restructuring teams.

Directs Advisory Group

Houlihan Lokey’s Directs Advisory Group provides strategic advice and execution services to funded and independent private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for direct transactions outside of a traditional fund structure. The group offers bespoke solutions for sponsors and other clients seeking flexible, targeted capital to support unique opportunities across asset classes and geographies. With access to many direct investors, including family offices, pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, etc., we deliver investor-aligned structures that unlock value and accelerate execution. The Direct Placements team combines unmatched distribution capabilities with deep private equity and capital markets expertise to connect high-quality sponsors and management teams with the right long-term partners to close transactions with.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

  • Possess basic knowledge of and a keen interest in corporate finance

  • Strong qualitative analysis skills and ability to own a workstream end-to-end

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • A fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications

  • Strong analytical and computer skills (Excel)

  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
