Job Description:
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating Azure & M365 cloud environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize cloud-native infrastructure, predominantly in Microsoft Azure, with awareness of multi-cloud principles.
- Manage Azure identity and access (Azure AD, Conditional Access) and integrate with hybrid identity solutions (AD Connect) as needed.
- Implement and maintain Azure governance policies and compliance controls.
- Monitor and optimize Azure resource performance, cost, and security posture.
- Configure and manage Azure monitoring and alerting systems for proactive operations.
- Automate cloud resource provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep) and scripting.
- Manage containerized workloads (Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Apps) and ensure high availability and scalability.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud resources.
- Perform security monitoring, vulnerability checks, and compliance audits for cloud-native environments.
- Collaborate with Global IT teams for cloud integration and operational excellence.
- Respond to alerts and incidents, ensuring SLA compliance and timely resolution.
- Support global deployments, including occasional off-hours support across time zones.
- Prior experience and knowledge of On-premises technologies as needed for migration or integration, though not expecting for operational responsibility.
Education
- University degree in IT or related field (or currently studying).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CKNA/CKA/CKAD for Kubernetes) or willingness to obtain during probation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating Microsoft Azure environments with strong PaaS and containerization knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration.
- Solid understanding of Linux administration in cloud contexts.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud principles (AWS/GCP) is a plus.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible).
Skills
- Strong PowerShell and Bash scripting skills, ideally having software engineering background.
- Proficiency in operating containerised workloads (deployment, scaling, monitoring) and experience with
- Good knowledge of Azure networking, security, and governance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead assigned small operational initiatives and drive process improvements.
- Analytical mindset for optimizing cloud operations.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn emerging cloud technologies.
- Team-oriented with a customer-focused approach.
