Financial Accountant (Part-Time)
Location: Hertfordshire (Office-Based)
Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Salary: 44,000 FTE (pro rata)
The Opportunity
Our client, an established and growing international consultancy operating within the life sciences and healthcare sector, is seeking an experienced and reliable Financial Accountant to join its UK team on a permanent, part-time basis. The organisation provides specialist advisory and technical expertise to a global client base and continues to see steady growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Manage month-end close, including reconciliations and supporting analysis
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and statutory reporting (UK GAAP)
- Monitor budgets and support stakeholders with financial performance tracking
- Process invoices, manage supplier payments, and resolve queries
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Assist with audits and liaise with external advisors
Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and controls
- Experience with UK payroll (international exposure advantageous)
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
