ABOUT REGULATORY ENGINEERING

Regulatory Engineering are responsible for non-financial regulatory reporting of Global Banking & Markets (GBM) activities to many regulators throughout the world.  In order to achieve this, the team processes the firms trading activity, be it securities or derivatives, within each jurisdiction in which the firm operates. The candidate will be part of the global team with presence in New York, London, Warsaw, Bengaluru, Birmingham, Singapore, Dallas and Hyderabad.

In this role you will join a team that is running a major uplift to our platforms and workflows. As part of the firmwide One GS 3.0 initiative we are uplifting our platforms to be cloud native and introducing AI into our workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for Engineers who are passionate about implementing such solutions for a dynamic Banking and Markets business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid base of technical knowledge and enthusiasm to work with colleagues as we deliver the uplifts.

 

How will you fulfil your potential?

  • Work closely with technology and strategy teams across the firm to build high quality, secure, and maintainable systems using approved tools and software development practices
  • You will partner with the global technology and business teams to develop and implement solutions to fulfil regulatory obligations of the firm
  • Manage relationship and workflows with multiple stakeholders and enhance business understanding in a cross product role
  • Analyse key performance metrics, monitoring success of initiatives, optimizing the approach and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Enhance your technology skills by working closely with engineers working on cutting edge system

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership to projects by leading technical project discussions, design, development and testing
  • Defining and enforcing compliance with development processes and best practices
  • Leading by example and guiding the team effectively

Experience

  • 8+ years experience with a proven track record in designing and implementing real-time distributed processing systems and event processing architecture. 
  • Proven expertise in architecting and executing large-scale migrations from on-premises legacy systems e.g. migrating to a cloud based Lakehouse environment (preferably AWS). Experience with near real time transactional systems with NoSQL databases (Kafka, Elastic Search)
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, managed services, and containerization (eg: Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with building secure, highly available and scalable systems especially in a large, enterprise-level organization.
  • Proficiency in contemporary programming languages like Python, C++, or Java.
  • Developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, production-ready code.
  • Building "AI-First" user interfaces that integrate generative features, streaming LLM responses, and Model Context Protocol ().

Relevant

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or a Senior Technical Lead, with a focus on cloud-native development or platform engineering.
  • Conceptualizing, experimenting with, and assessing AI/ML-based software systems.
  • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation () and model fine-tuning.
  • Designing complex multi-agent systems using frameworks like LangGraph or CrewAI, where BPMN logic governs autonomous AI decision-making.
