Role Summary

 

This Vice President will oversee all marketing activity for the DACH region for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Given the focus on growth within the Third-Party Wealth (TPW) client channel the role will primarily lead the development and execution of integrated, client-focused marketing initiatives targeted at the Third-Party Wealth (TPW) client channel across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) but also partner with our dedicated Institutional and Alternatives Marketing teams to deliver local marketing activation. 

 

Based in Zurich, the Vice President will work closely with global, regional and local Marketing and Sales teams, driving the local go-to-market strategy, leveraging messaging strategy, content creation, digital marketing, events and sponsorships, and social media to create end-to-end campaigns and programs in service of the commercial objectives of the business across these three markets. The TPW client channel includes discretionary and advisory wealth managers, private banks, and fund platforms. The Vice President will partner with client-facing business teams to understand commercial objectives and set marketing strategies that help fuel our business growth objectives with this critical segment. The role will also focus on building strategic partnerships and delivering relevant marketing initiatives that align with client needs, preferences and engagement strategies across the diverse DACH landscape.

 

The Vice President is expected to collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and strategic external partners to co-create marketing initiatives that drive commercial growth by addressing specific client challenges, enhancing partner value propositions and deepening relationships across key distribution networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Marketing strategy: Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to drive brand awareness and support the growth of the TPW client segment across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
  • Marketing implementation: Partner with our Institutional and Alternatives Marketing teams for the delivery of any Global or EMEA marketing initiatives in the DACH region. 
  • Marketing calendar: Oversee the development of a coordinated marketing calendar that harmonizes globally planned initiatives (incl. content) and local amplification and events across the DACH region.
  • Events and Sponsored Conferences: Develop an integrated event calendar. Plan, organise and coordinate regional events, sponsorships and roadshows in partnership with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with client priorities and supporting TPW brand and relationship-building efforts across Zurich, Frankfurt, Vienna and other key financial centres.
  • Campaigns and execution: Bring local strategic points of view to EMEA-wide initiatives to ensure relevance for the DACH segment. Augment regionally planned campaigns and product launches with locally tailored initiatives for German, Swiss and Austrian audiences, leveraging a range of channels including email,
  • Team oversight: Offer oversight and development the DACH Marketing team members.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • 10+ years in a similar role within a similar leading financial institution with an outstanding track record with measurable impacts and achievements
  • Fluency in German and English is essential,  
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry: clients, products, regulations, competitors, with specific deep knowledge of regulatory requirements for the DACH market
  • Deep understanding of the distribution channels and client touchpoints within banks or other financial distribution platforms
  • A strong understanding of all marketing mediums including digital, social and collateral
  • Strong financial acumen and interest in investment views and markets with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and develop a clear, compelling story 
  • Demonstrable track record of working effectively across matrixed, complex organizations with strong communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to engage with partners at all levels 
  • Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS)
