INVESTMENT BANKING
Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. OUR IMPACT
The Natural Resources Group is a global team with bankers around the world. The group has a significant presence with offices in New York, Houston, Toronto, Calgary, London, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, among others. The group covers Metals & Mining, Chemicals, Power & Utilities, and Energy (including Alternative and Renewable Energy). The analyst role will focus specifically on Energy banking in Houston.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
Investment Banking Analysts at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills. Analysts create and analyze financial models, performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of client alternatives. In addition, analysts organize and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Analysts may also participate in and conduct due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our analysts are a vital part of Goldman Sachs banking teams. Goldman Sachs seeks highly motivated, successful candidates for the analyst position.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelors degree required
- Investment banking internship experience required, with experience in financial modeling, preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations, benchmarking materials, and other process documents
- Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail
- Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities
- Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact
