Job Duties: Associate, Investing & Portfolio Management - Private with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Interact with senior management at companies to build relationships and coordinate information requests needed for analysis. Conduct detailed financial analysis on individual, privately held companies to assess investment opportunities. This includes forecasting financial statements (cash flow, balance sheet, and income statement), valuation analysis, market, and competitive analysis, returns analysis (including modeling various preferred equity structures) and unit economics. Prepare detailed investment committee memos outlining the considerations of a particular investment and the terms to propose. Present investment thesis to internal investment committees. Perform investment management duties, including quarterly valuations, assessing needs for future capital, helping with business development, serving on boards and assessing exit opportunities. Research and develop expertise around various trends, themes, and business models across enterprise technology. Mentor analysts and other junior team members.

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related Investment Banking role. Must have two (2) years of prior working experience with: analyzing, evaluating, and executing mid and large cap (enterprise value of $500 million and more) sellside and buyside transactions; developing fully integrated cash flow, balance sheet, and P&L financial models, including accounting adjustments, with probabilistic scenarios; developing equity (including merger and LBO) and debt transaction models; developing valuation and model analysis for Fairness Committees and presentations to Board of Directors at various companies to make strategic M&A decisions; working directly with key stakeholders at various publicly listed companies (enterprise value of $1 billion and more) including CEOs, CFOs and finance teams on transactions; and utilizing tools including Thomson Reuters Eikon and Bloomberg Terminals to conduct detailed financial analysis and benchmarking exercises for public companies. Travel required 40% of the time within North America.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York based position is $170,000- $220,000.
