Job Duties: Associate, Investing & Portfolio Management - Private with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Work on Investing & Lending in Private Credit, Asset-Backed Finance. Conduct detailed financial analysis on individual private asset-backed finance opportunities to assess credit profile and relative value, including forecasting financial statements, valuation analysis, loss coverage and stress scenario analysis, market and competitive analysis, returns analysis and unit economics. Prepare detailed investment committee memoranda outlining the considerations of a particular investment. Present investment thesis to internal investment committees. Significant interactions with borrowers, co-investors and sourcing counterparties to build relationships and coordinate information requests needed for analysis. Perform quarterly valuations, assess needs for future capital, and help with business development. Research and develop expertise around various trends, themes and business models across financial technology and other sectors in asset-backed finance.

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business, Information Science, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related role.  Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: developing detailed financial analyses using knowledge of GAAP accounting, asset valuation techniques, leverage and industry benchmarks, collateral performance scenarios, and transaction cashflow and payment waterfall analysis; working with various asset-backed finance structures and terms and applying them to individual investments; financial technology sector experience, including consumer finance/lending, mortgage finance, payments, insurance, real estate, and consumer and commercial banking; presenting detailed investment analyses to internal committees and building strong relationships with borrowers, co-investors, sourcing counterparties, and vendors in the financial technology and asset-backed finance eco-system; performing detailed collateral modeling, stress scenario and breakeven loss coverage analysis, and relative value analysis across various sub-sectors of asset-backed finance including consumer loans, residential assets, fund finance, commercial real estate, aviation, and digital infrastructure; and reviewing a range of transaction legal documentation covering various structures in asset-backed finance including credit agreements, loan agreements, master repurchase agreements, and 4a2 note indentures.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York based position is $175,000.
