In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Support multiple, broad based sampling and monitoring programs and collection of chemical, physical and biological tests (water, biota, sediment)
  • Apply quality control and quality assurance protocols to monitoring programs
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate monitoring and sample collection equipment and instrumentation
  • Carry out environmental data entry, review, and management
  • Participate in field investigations and inspections
  • Coordinate contractor management to ensure work is being conducted safely and in accordance with the project scope
  • Supervise and monitor environmental projects, such as remediation, maintenance of pollution control infrastructure or programs, and field sampling initiatives

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in a related industry area, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology or in an Earth Sciences field, such as Biology, Geography, Forestry, and Agriculture
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
  • Experience in environmental compliance or monitoring in the resource industry
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, standards, and effective industry practices
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
