Mount Isa Mines currently are seeking suitably qualified applicants for multiple opportunities at our Processing Zinc Maintenance Electrical Department. This opportunity provides an array of varied opportunities in a complex surface processing mining environment and new, diverse experiences for a qualified tradesperson, along with benefits of residential living and ability to be home each night.

The required working roster for this position is dayshift Monday to Friday with varied options 48, 52 or 56 hour weeks with 4 day or 5 day options with the ability to work overtime as required. Potential for filling in for shift electricians to cover absences with development for permanent shift roles if positions become available.

The Role
This position will see you become an integral part of the maintenance team responsible for the Grinding & Flotation circuits, Fill Plants, Concentrate Filters, tailing thickeners site process water and associated electrical infrastructure supporting these processes

The chosen individual will have the following responsibilities:
  • Electrical and Instrument inspections
  • Preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Installations of electrical components across Copper and Zinc processing areas
  • Development to allow for potential breakdown shift coverage
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
  • Australian Manual Drivers Licence
  • Trade qualified Electrician with an equivalent Queensland Electrical Fitter or Electrical Mechanic Licence
  • Instrumentation Qualification highly preferred
  • The ability to model behavior effectively and maintain a conscientious work ethic
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills along with a professional work standard
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge with the following will be highly regarded:
  • HV and LV motors
  • variable speed drives
  • soft starters and conveyor systems
  • Ramsay Weighers, SMC positioners, ultrasonic level transmitters, differential pressure transmitters and magnetic flows
  • Allen Bradley Control Logic PLC
