Full Job Description

G-Research is a leading quantitative research and technology firm, with offices in London and Dallas.

We are proud to employ some of the best people in their field and to nurture their talent in a dynamic, flexible and highly stimulating culture where world-beating ideas are cultivated and rewarded.

This is a hybrid role based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The role

We’re seeking a Finance Business Partner to support financial decision making across the business.

Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will be instrumental in leading the commercial agenda for a key function within the business.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will independently support decision making, generating insight and identifying opportunities for productivity and investment.  As such, this role will have exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Creating value by co-owning growth and resource allocation dynamics, and being recognised as a leader beyond the finance function

  • Delivering strong financial management through disciplined execution of insightful reporting and planning, acting as a trusted partner to the function

  • Controlling the cost base by developing a deep understanding of the numbers and drivers, managing risks and opportunities, and enforcing corporate standards when required

  • Managing monthly reporting, short- and long-term planning and roadmap strategy to ensure financial alignment with business goals

  • Translating strategic concepts into compelling business cases that support decision-making and value creation

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience with a proven track record of business partnering in organisations with large-scale technology infrastructures

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate insights into impact

  • Fluency in IT infrastructure, data, coding, software development or financial services, coupled with strong stakeholder management capabilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, essential for effective business partnering across functions

  • Outstanding academic background, ideally from a leading university

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong data analytics and presentation skills; experience with tools such as OneStream, Alteryx, or Tableau is a distinct advantage

  • An accounting qualification is preferred but not essential

  • High level of integrity and discretion, with the ability to manage privileged access to sensitive information

Why should you apply?

  • Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus

  • Lunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar

  • 30 days’ annual leave

  • 9% company pension contributions

  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance

  • Comprehensive healthcare and life assurance

  • Cycle-to-work scheme

  • Monthly company events

G-Research is committed to cultivating and preserving an inclusive work environment. We are an ideas-driven business and we place great value on diversity of experience and opinions.

We want to ensure that applicants receive a recruitment experience that enables them to perform at their best. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation please let us know in the relevant section
