We are looking for a Manager - Client Reporting to join the team in Japan.

How You Will Add Value?

This position is responsible for generating regular reports. It involves consolidating fund accounting data, market-related data, and investment analysis data, and preparing periodic, standardized reports on a regular basis. In addition, when new funds are launched, the role will actively participate in new fund onboarding, including building the workflows required for regular report production in coordination with both domestic and overseas stakeholders.

Report generation requires a certain level of knowledge of fund accounting data, as well as a basic understanding of portfolio data and market-related information. We are seeking individuals who can understand how to combine various types of data to create reports and who are capable of designing and building efficient report generation workflows.

As the number of funds increases, the workload associated with report generation grows accordingly. To address this, the firm actively leverages various technologies and outsourcing solutions. We are looking for candidates who are not constrained by conventional thinking and who can overcome challenges with fresh and innovative ideas.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in roles involving the use of fund accounting databases within the asset management industry, including asset management firms and trust banks.

  • Experience in report generation, portfolio management, or investment risk management is desirable.

Expertise / Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of fund accounting

  • Data processing skills, including SQL, Excel macros, and BI tools

  • Basic Knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management, and investment risk analysis

  • Basic knowledge of regulations and business practices in the asset management industry

  • Basic knowledge of investment vehicles and fund structures

  • Business-level communication skills in both Japanese and English

Competencies:

  • Highly goal-oriented, with the perseverance to tackle problems and see them through to resolution

  • Strong motivation to learn and continuously develop skills and knowledge

  • Strong logical and analytical thinking skills

  • A flexible and proactive team player who can collaborate effectively with others

PC and Language Skills:

  • Knowledge of fund accounting databases (such as T-STAR, X-Net, or similar systems)

  • Skills to generate reports by integrating accounting data and portfolio data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required (degrees in Economics, Law, Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or other business-related fields will be considered)

  • A masters degree (including an MBA) will be considered

  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or CAIA will be considered
