The Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data and AI Organization, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation data and AI capabilities through the design and delivery of innovative solutions. You will collaborate with a global network of engineers as part of a diverse, cross-functional team of highly motivated technologists who value innovation, transparency, and teamwork. The team brings together deep technology and business expertise with a passion for exploring emerging technologies, grounded in the belief that small, empowered, and self-directed teams can deliver exceptional outcomes.
In this role, you will lead the engineering and development of high-quality software components and applications supporting enterprise-standard data contract services. Beyond hands-on development, you will help define and implement forward-looking solutions that enable effective management and governance of Fidelitys enterprise data assets.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native data and software engineering solutions
Hands-on expertise building data pipelines using multiple integration patterns, including batch processing, event-driven architectures, and REST-based APIs
Strong proficiency in AWS services, Java, Python, REST APIs, and Kafka
Solid understanding of data management concepts, data quality best practices, and experience implementing governance and validation frameworks
Demonstrated experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Artifactory, and Jenkins
Extensive hands-on experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
Deep technical expertise in data engineering with a strong interest in learning emerging technologies and evolving cloud platforms
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, reliability, and performance
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing priorities
Collaborative team player with a willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior engineers
Public cloud certification (AWS or Azure) strongly preferred
