What role you will play in our team

 

  • The Contract Lead/Contract Manager has overall responsibility to manage contract life cycles by driving value and efficiency, while ensuring operational integrity. 

  • The Contract Lead/Contract Manager will own and manage agreements for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC & FEED) Services. 

  • They will also be responsible for developing miscellaneous non-WBS agreements, generally services used by various Global Projects teams where an agreement does not already exist. This includes working with other category families and efficiency contracting.

What you will do

 

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of agreements

  • Host as required, a Project Contracting Strategy workshop with project management to develop the Project Work Breakdown Structure for the overall capital project

  • Lead and manage contract development, including coordination of Job Specification components.  Ensure consistency between Principal Document and all other contract components (exhibits, job specification, etc.) prior to bid issue

  • Lead the commercial evaluation as a member of the bid review team and ensure that commercial impact of any contractual or technical/execution issues/exceptions that are resolved/changed during the evaluation period are accurately reflected in final total evaluated cost and contract documents

  • Ensure all documents and exhibits are complete and included in the final contract, all functional reviews and management approvals are completed/obtained as required

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate within Projects organization, functions (i.e. legal, controllers, etc) and Procurement category families to maximize commercial outcomes 

  • Monitor status of the contractor market (seeking input from Category Managers) 

  • Analyze data on market intelligence from other internal groups and use results to optimize project execution strategies 

  • Integrates overall commercial - technical contracting components and ensures overall contract quality and integrity

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelors in engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees with minimum 7 CGPA
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Contract Lead/Contract Manager.
  • Contract development, Contract maintenance and Negotiations experience.
  • Contracting experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and / or EPC Industry
  • Knowledge of the India & international EPC market, contracts (reimbursable and lump-sum), and supply chain 
  • Understanding of Engineering Services/EPC Category Agreement templates/compensation methodologies
  • Leadership skills 
  • Procurement / commercial functional expertise
  • Possesses strong negotiation skills.  Ability to handle conflict and resolve complex commercial exceptions with bidder's legal and management representatives in a timely manner
  • Proficient in developing Contracts (EPC, FEED, Others) with Lump Sum, Reimbursable and Unit Rate compensation structures while ensuring transactional efficiency of agreements (enterprise resource planning friendly agreements)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to share appropriate messages to various levels of leadership as well as external parties
  • Strong understanding of contracting and capital project risk management expectations and common business control requirements. Contract development must be in compliance with ExxonMobil process and controls requirements. 
  • Outstanding initiative, drive and resilience in
  • day-to-day-activities to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of total system cost concept.
  • Knowledge of purchase to pay process including enterprise resource planning systems (SAP)
  • Commercial contract development, negotiation and influence, bid development and evaluation, supplier relationship management, contracting strategy development.
  • Behavioral drive, resilience, communication skills, ability to integrate easily.
  • Other service excellence, sound decision maker, strong collaborator



Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
 

  • Contracting experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and / or EPC Industry
  • Knowledge of the India & international EPC market, contracts (reimbursable and lump-sum), and supply chain 
  • Understanding of Engineering Services/EPC Category Agreement templates/compensation methodologies
  • Proficient in oral and written communication 
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of total system cost concept.
  • Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP
