Full Job Description

What is the Position? Evercore is looking for a Vice President, Compensation to join the Human Capital Group’s Compensation team. The individual’s primary responsibility will be to lead compensation expense modeling, analytics, and reporting. They will serve as the Compensation team’s primary partner to Finance, working closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), business unit controllers, and subject matter experts within the business to enhance compensation forecasting accuracy and provide actionable leadership insights. This individual will also support the Compensation and Deferred Compensation teams with our Mid-Year and Year-End Compensation cycle activities. This role will report directly into the Head of Compensation and may also be exposed to other areas of the Compensation function.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Establish Evercore’s Compensation Modeling & Analytics function and set strategy in line with overall Compensation and Human Capital Group objectives
  • Partner with Finance to forecast compensation expenses across all lines of business, providing dedicated expertise to ensure accurate and useful compensation modeling and analytics
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance compensation expense models to support short- and long-term financial planning and capture complex and rapidly evolving headcount and pay structures
  • Drive enhanced transparency for senior management by providing actionable insights into compensation spend and expense drivers
  • Establish and enhance foundational processes, tools, and systems to support the scalability and efficiency of compensation modeling, analytics, and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cost forecasting and improve predictive accuracy
  • In partnership with IT organization, ensure that data infrastructure supports scalable and secure analytics capabilities
  • Support Compensation and Deferred Compensation teams with annual compensation cycle activities
  • Stay current on industry best practices in compensation analytics, financial planning, and HR data management

Minimum Qualifications (required):

  • Strong analytical and quantitative acumen; proven ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Superior communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to senior audiences
  • Demonstrated track record of managing or leading complex forecasting, budgeting, or compensation modeling initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including advanced modeling skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in compensation analytics, financial planning & analysis, or related financial modeling roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial Services experience
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools
  • Familiarity with workforce planning, headcount forecasting, or HR analytics frameworks
  • Experience with HRIS (Workday preferred)
  • Desire and ability to work in a smaller team-oriented environment
  • This position requires valid United States work authorization and is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship

Expected Base Salary Range: $175,000 – $200,000
