Erste Group was founded in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank and is today one of the largest stock-listed banking groups in Central Europe. As an attractive employer, Erste Group offers interesting career opportunities in an international environment.

The Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Group is comprised of Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Sovereigns, Supranationals and Agencies (SSA) as well as Corporates. Broadly, the DCM business focuses on a wide range of debt-related transactions, including syndicated bonds, private placements, hybrid bonds, EMTN drawdowns, and Schuldschein loans.

As part of this internship, you will particularly work in the FIG & SSA Capital Markets department, a globally leading DCM house and prominent underwriter of bond issuances, with a strong focus on syndicated bonds and private placements. The Origination team is responsible for securing mandates from issuers such as banks and insurers within the FIG segment globally as well as from SSA clients, supporting as well as advising them throughout issuing debt capital.

Our scope of work comprises the coordination of the entire issuance process, from preparatory marketing activities to managing work streams between legal advisors, research, bond syndicate, and fixed income sales teams placing the transaction.

Your Tasks:

  • Research of certain issuers and markets as well as preparing regular market updates
  • Gathering information from Bloomberg, rating agencies as well as internal and external databases, further processing it in Excel for analysis as well as creating comprehensive and visually appealing PowerPoint slide decks
  • Analysis of executed issuances and drafting transaction-related reports, such as deal summaries, as well as assisting in the preparation of RfPs to win mandates for bond issuances

Your Background:

  • Ongoing studies at a university or university of applied sciences, with a focus on economics, business administration, mathematics, or a related field

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus

Our Offer:

  • A full-time internship from August until the end of December 2026 (38.5 hours / week); possibility to extend the internship depending on performance
  • Support of your professional and personal development in a dynamic, comprehensive and interesting area
  • We guarantee an internship allowance of minimum EUR 2.745,32 gross per month on a full-time basis (except obligatory internships) and benefits of Erste Group
  • We consider the diversity of our employees as key to innovation and success. As employer we are proud to offer everyone equal chances, irrespective of age, skin colour, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation or origin
