Who we are
Assurance Technical is part of the Professional Practice Group (PPG) within Assurance. We specialise in the assurance standards and various audit methodologies and all the other assurance policies. We support engagement teams on complex and judgemental audit matters and are often described as the team behind solving the answer, it depends.
What we do
Assurance Technical assists engagement partners and teams in working in todays complex auditing environment by providing specialist audit technical support services.
In addition to providing general technical consultation support, audit technical also provides consultation support on complex higher risk areas such as:
- Reportable irregularity / NOCLAR instances.
- Audit report modications.
- Going concern evaluations.
Audit technical prides itself on its proactive focus on driving quality, efciency and effectiveness of methodology enablement. This is achieved through numerous initiatives such as:
- Continuing to enhance our policies, practices, forms, templates and tools for the Future of Audit. Now.
- Researching and responding to audit-related enquiries.
- Performing pre-issuance KAM/EAR audit report reviews on listed/PIE engagements.
- Supporting the technical learning and development of the audit practice through the preparation and delivery of technical updates and training materials.
- Providing AQR/IRBA support.
- Identifying the crux of quality deficiencies through the execution of Root Cause Analysis.
- Improving the quality of documentation on audit les through Hot File Reviews, Global Coaching and thematic reviews.
- Working with the QEL team on more complex matters and supporting them on their enablement strategies.
What an average day looks like
No two days are the same. Our work spans audit standards, GAM, consultations, quality review support, enablement and learning development. We place a strong emphasis on continuous learning, collaboration, and team supportwhile still making room for occasional team events or activities.
