In EY International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS), we provide flexible opportunities for you to hone single, dual or multi-disciplinary tax skillsets, be it corporate and international tax advisory, transaction tax advisory, business incentives advisory and/ or transfer pricing.

Our diverse international and domestic client base span across industries and sectors, providing you with vast opportunities for exposure, for depth, across competencies, across geographies. You will work with our ITTS partners and lead engagement project teams to help businesses as they go through various aspects of their life or growth cycle. Establish. Expand. Transform. Exit.

You will be involved in:

  1. Mergers and acquisitions transactions, advising companies and private equity investors on all tax aspects of their transactions - acquisition, disposal, refinancing, restructuring or initial public offering. And helping with negotiations throughout the transaction life cycle, from initial due diligence to post-deal implementation
  2. Identifying market entry or exit tax issues and workarounds. Legal entity rationalization. Transactional or operating model design, review and implementation. Tax governance and tax risk management.
  3. Cross border multi-jurisdictional tax and transfer pricing projects as businesses restructure or transform amidst the evolving and changing global tax landscape, especially with BEPS 2.0 and the increasing levels of tax disputes across countries and regions.
  4. Understanding development objectives and value drivers of businesses, e.g. headquarters functions, centres of excellence, manufacturing and distribution activities, finance and treasury operations, intangible property, incentives, etc, and helping them achieve sustainability with the alignment of their tax and operating model. In addition, to also help strategise, plan and apply for research and development grants or deductions, incentives or other forms of government support, where required

Qualifications and skills

  • A degree related to Accountancy / Finance / Tax /Business / Economics / Engineering / Information Technology; a CPA, CA or similar certification
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience for manager role, at least 8 years of experience for senior manager role 
  • Ideally have some experience working in an M&A Tax environment.  Experience performing tax diligence, tax structuring and/or transaction implementation.
  • Strong foundation in complex tax and/or transfer pricing advisory, including international tax, M&A, treaty-related issues, dispute resolution, and BEPS frameworks
  • An open mind and the ability to lead with confidence, influence and inspire the next generation, adapt and perform under pressure
  • Problem solving, time and project management skills
  • Effective and impactful communication and presentation skills (written, verbal, relationship building)
