Job Title: Senior Consultant GCP Data Engineering

Experience Level:

36 years

 

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Consultant with 36 years of experience in GCP Data Engineering to design and deliver scalable data solutions on Google Cloud. This role requires strong practical expertise in BigQuery, Dataflow, and core GCP data services, along with the ability to work closely with stakeholders in an agile consulting environment.

Domain exposure to Oil & Gas, Energy, or Banking will be an added advantage.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data pipelines (batch and streaming) using Dataflow (Apache Beam)
  • Design and optimize BigQuery-based data warehouses and data marts
  • Work on data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) using GCP services like Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and convert them into scalable data solutions
  • Ensure data quality, performance, and cost optimization across GCP workloads
  • Support data modeling activities (dimensional and normalized models)
  • Assist in solution design and architecture discussions
  • Troubleshoot pipeline performance issues and optimize processing
  • Contribute to CI/CD and deployment automation for data pipelines
  • Work within agile teams and support sprint-based delivery

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

Hands-on experience in:

  • BigQuery (SQL, data modeling, performance tuning basics)
  • Dataflow (batch pipelines; exposure to streaming is a plus)
  • GCP services: Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub

Strong understanding of:

  • ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline design
  • Data warehousing concepts

Exposure to:

Cloud Composer (Airflow) or any workflow orchestration tools

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of:

  • Dataproc, Bigtable, Looker / Power BI

Basic understanding of:

  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • GCP certification (Associate or Professional Data Engineer) is a plus

 

Domain Experience (Good to Have)

Exposure to:

  • Oil & Gas or Energy sectors (asset, operations, or IoT data)
  • Banking / Financial Services (reporting, transactions, regulatory data)

 

Soft Skills

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder interaction
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced agile environment
