Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub service line, the Tech Private Equity Value Creation team is a specialized group focused on unlocking growth and operational efficiency for private equity portfolio companies. The team works primarily with PE-backed, SaaS businesses in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.

 

Our team partners with management teams to identify critical business challenges, uncover actionable insights, and develop strategic and tactical recommendations, typically supporting execution planning and, in many cases, helping drive implementation. This is a high-impact, fast-paced environment where consultants play a key role in delivering results and shaping client outcomes.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As an Associate in EY-Parthenons Strategy and Execution Tech Private Equity Value Creation practice, you will be a vital member of the team executing operational focused projects. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Conduct structured, data-driven analysis to identify root causes and quantify opportunities using Excel and other tools.
  • Drive structured analysis to identify root causes, quantify opportunities, and develop actionable, data-backed recommendations across go-to-market, pricing, customer success, product, and operations.
  • Develop and test hypotheses to address complex business problems across go-to-market, pricing, customer success, product, and operations.
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables and contribute to presentations with increasing independence.
  • Support Directors and Partners by preparing materials and insights that help them show up well-informed and impactful at client meetings.
  • Take ownership of discrete workstreams and begin to lead internal and client discussions with limited oversight.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional client teams and EY-Parthenon colleagues to drive alignment and momentum.

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • A bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 1 year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and some related work experience.
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or operating roles with significant exposure to growth, go-to-market, or operational improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel modelling, Power Point storytelling and structured problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
  • Experience developing client presentations and communicating insights effectively
  • Understanding financial statements and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.
  • You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

 

Ideally, you will have

 

  • MBA from a top-rated school.
  • Direct experience with private equity sponsors and/or PE-backed portfolio companies.
  • Sector experience in TMT, with particular emphasis on B2B SaaS business models.
  • Familiarity with go-o-market strategy, product development, or operational improvement in a consulting or operating role.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,000 to $110,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
