Job Name - Insurance P&C and Life Delivery Leader - Executive Director

 

Position Summary

The continued expansion of GDS Consulting's P&C and Life sectors,combined with the firm's strategic focus on these areas as key growth accelerators, has created a need for additional Executive Director roles.These roles will be crucial in managing and driving large strategic core accounts in the U.S. P&C Insurance sector, overseeing delivery and supporting sales in a business that represents over 1 million hours annually

The role will also have a significant impact on the Life & Annuity subsector, collaborating with Global Client Service Partners (GCSPs) to foster innovation and support the development of new products that address emerging business challenges in the Life & Annuity market.

 

Essential Functions of the job

Lead large-scale transformation programs in Guidewire with the ability to manage and execute complex, transformative initiatives, ensuring alignment with client goals and objectives. 

Position GDS as a credible transformation partner, both to the Global Client Service Partner (GCSP) and the client, by delivering measurable and sustainable business value designed for the modern digital era

  • Work with client-facing teams and leadership to prepare estimates,Points of View, position papers, and contribute to sector pursuits andproposals, enhancing GDS presence in the account
  • Create roadshows and marketing campaigns to increase outreach and visibility at the account, strengthening GDS brand and presence within the clients organization
  • Manage large-scale pursuits from start to finish, collaborating with both onshore and GDS teams. Take ownership of the entire process, from initial discussions to closing, ensuring seamless execution
  • Drive skills development within the GDS P&C and Life and Annuity team by implementing training programs, certifications, and Proofs of Concept (POCs), while leveraging cross-skilling initiatives between business consulting and technology consulting to enhance the team's capabilities.

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities

  • Operate as an autonomous professional, empowered to make key decisions related to practice growth, investments in emerging technologies, people management, and market-specific strategies, with minimal oversight
  • Leverage a blend of domain expertise, market insights, and strong relationships to drive the achievement of business objectives, delivering impactful results through a combination of strategic vision and operational execution
  • Collaborate closely with competency and account leaders, working together with their clients to uncover sector opportunities, actively participate in RFPs, pursuits, and large-scale transformation programs. Influence, present, propose, and deliver complex transformation initiatives across all regions, driving GDS success.

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum qualification: Bachelors degree in Science, Information Systems Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 18+ years of professional experience.
  • Industry experience: Prior experience working in core industry sectors is highly desirable
  • Management consulting experience: Proven experience in management consulting and advisory roles, particularly within Insurance P&C and life Annuity consulting organizations, is a significant advantage.
  • Account management expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage large[1]scale accounts with a headcount exceeding 500+ is a major plus, showcasing a capacity for overseeing complex client engagements and large teams.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Proven experience managing large accounts in the life sciences sector, with a focus on accounts exceeding 500 people, 1 million hours.
  • Extensive consulting expertise with deep domain knowledge in P&C and Life Annuity across the entire value chain, including R&D, Innovation, Product development. Demonstrated ability to sell and lead large-scale consulting engagements with a distributed delivery model.
  • Strong relationship-building skills: Ability to establish and nurture trusted relationships with senior executives (CEO/CIO/CTO) and other C[1]suite members. Serve as a thought leader and business advisor alongside Global Client Service Partners (GCSPs), guiding strategic decision-making at the highest levels
  • Develop GDS market capabilities: Lead initiatives to support market development and service delivery, including recruitment, training, and regional integration. Position GDS as a market leader by developing both traditional and pay-per-use services for delivery across all regions
