Finance Business Analysis Associate Director

 

The opportunity

 

This opportunity as an Associate Director within the Business Analysis Team involves preparation of plan inputs and are responsible for the preparation of routine financial analysis and interpretation of financial results, report commentaries and cost analysis for a particular Business Unit or Service line. They support finance leadership in identification of areas requiring further analysis to agree corrective action.

 

This role provides critical thinking on business direction, operating and markets performance and financial results, in support of Regional, SL and CBS leadership teams. This position is active in the financial planning processes; identifies business trends; recommends courses of action; and may lead the implementation of advances in technology and software to meet changing business needs.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  •  Be a 'Go To' contact for markets, financial, and operational issues while supporting SL Business /CBS Leadership and acting as a trusted business adviser. Develop effective working relationships with the extended Finance team and leadership.
  • Deliver weekly and monthly performance reporting, focusing on analysis and commentary.  Maintain a robust month end reporting process, and ensure commentaries are timely, concise, insightful and action orientated.
  • Understand and analyze wins, losses, declines, pipelines, and backlog to provide support on initiatives such as Backlog improvement, pipeline coverage ratio etc.
  • Collaborate   with Reporting COE to develop and maintain primary financial reporting solutions to deliver actionable, accurate, and timely distribution of critical information.
  • Support and lead the completion on time of various planning cycles, ensuring outputs align to the objectives set
  • Analyze and present complex markets and financial data in a way that is easily understandable. Pro-actively suggest ways to solve problems and to display presentations. Develop and support the delivery of presentations that engage audiences, responding to questions and concerns.
  • Respond to requests from Finance and Business Leadership to answer specific ad hoc questions and provide insightful information to advance leadership discussion and decision making. Support the design and delivery of ad hoc financial analysis, identifying trends and issues.
  • Support financial scenario modeling for leadership, providing recommended solutions/outcomes within a range of options.
  • Act as counsellor and coach to other team members as required, supporting development and demonstration of Trusted Business Advisor competencies of the team. Lead and participate in GDS Finance project and initiatives.

 Ability to understand and exploit large data sets, present analysis and results through storytelling and problem solving:

  •  Strong technical skills with the ability to analyze problems, design and implement solutions independently.
  •  Comfort working in a fast-paced business with rapid growth; ability to handle ambiguity and frame and solve problems is key.
  • Highly team-oriented approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritize a number of conflicting demands to meet exact deadlines.
  •  Global mindset ability to work effectively as a virtual team member.  Ability and willingness to work in a multicultural and diverse environment and flex style as appropriate.  Flexibility to work with different time zones.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Graduate and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance)
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong spoken and written English
