Assistant Director Communication and Engagement

Role Overview

At EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC), we work closely with business leaders to bring EYs people strategy to life. GDS delivers several enterprise-wide programs that span functions, service lines and geographies. This role ensures these initiatives are supported by consistent, high-quality communications.

The Enterprise-wide Programs Communications Lead owns communications for cross-GDS initiatives. The role focuses on building cohesive narratives and aligned employee experiences across large-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Communication Strategy

  • Define and lead the enterprise communications agenda for EY GDS, ensuring strong alignment with business strategy, growth priorities and leadership direction.
  • Shape a clear and compelling enterprise narrative that connects business priorities, transformation themes and cultural direction into a single, consistent story
  • Identify white-space opportunities to strengthen GDS positioning within the EY network through effective communication and storytelling.
  • Drive structured, forward-looking communication planning to ensure continuity, coherence and sustained impact across the organization.

Enterprise Messaging and Narrative Integration

  • Develop and manage core enterprise messaging frameworks that guide communication across service lines, functions and geographies.
  • Ensure consistent articulation of priorities across leadership messaging, campaigns, platforms and major organizational initiatives.
  • Partner across Operations, business and BMC teams to align messaging and eliminate fragmentation.
  • Maintain a strong and unified GDS voice across all enterprise communications, ensuring clarity of positioning and intent.

Executive Advisory

  • Act as a trusted communications advisor to GDS leadership, providing counsel on enterprise positioning, messaging and communication approach.
  • Shape high-impact leadership communications including global messages, town halls, enterprise updates and strategic announcements.
  • Enable leaders with clear narratives, messaging packs and communication toolkits to drive alignment and consistency across the organization.
  • Facilitate alignment across leadership teams, ensuring consistent communication of priorities, progress and direction.

Strategic Content

  • Define the content strategy for enterprise communications, ensuring relevance, clarity and impact across all key touchpoints.
  • Lead development of flagship narratives, enterprise messaging packs and cross-GDS storytelling assets.
  • Translate business strategy and transformation themes into clear, compelling and accessible communication for diverse audiences.
  • Ensure all content aligns to EY brand standards, tone of voice and inclusivity principles.

Campaigns and Communication Channels

  • Lead planning and execution of enterprise communication moments including strategy rollouts, major announcements and leadership engagement forums.
  • Define channel strategy for enterprise communications, ensuring effective use of intranet, email, events, leadership forums and digital platforms.
  • Partner with publishing, digital and analytics teams to optimize content delivery, reach and engagement.
  • Maintain a structured communication cadence that balances frequency with clarity and avoids information overload.

Governance

  • Establish governance frameworks, communication standards and messaging guidelines for enterprise communications across GDS.
  • Define and track success measures such as reach, alignment, engagement and understanding of enterprise priorities.
  • Build feedback loops and insights mechanisms to continuously refine communication effectiveness.
  • Enable and guide BMC teams and stakeholders to deliver aligned, high-quality enterprise communications at scale.

Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in global, matrixed professional services organizations is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience shaping enterprise narratives and supporting senior leadership communications.
