Full Job Description

Barrons is seeking a seasoned editor to lead and expand our coverage of the technology sector. As tech companies represent a disproportionate share of the market and investor interest, this role is central to our editorial mission.

The successful candidate will be a sharp thinker who can manage a team of reporters to deliver both timely digital analysis and deeply reported enterprise stories. We are looking for an editor who can move beyond the daily news cycle to provide the sophisticated financial perspective our readers expect. They will bring a deep understanding of the capital markets, corporate finance, and the technology industry, and the ability to edit complex stories under tight deadlines while maintaining Barrons standards for trusted journalism.

The ideal candidate should be:

  • Deeply knowledgeable of the tech sector, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into compelling, reader-friendly journalism

  • Ready to oversee a mix of coverage including earnings reports, product launches, and broader industry trends, with a consistent focus on what these events mean for investors.

  • Prepared to manage a team of reporters covering the technology beat, ensuring high standards of accuracy, clarity, and analytical depth.

  • Able to develop and edit long-form enterprise stories and investigative pieces for the weekly Barrons magazine and online.

  • Set to coordinate coverage that intersects with other sectors, recognizing technologys growing influence across the global economy.

  • Willing to use data and metrics to help guide editorial decisions and optimize content for digital platforms and newsletters.

Applicants should have a minimum of eight years of experience in financial journalism, business reporting, or technology coverage, with a Proven ability to deliver sharp analysis and engaging storytelling across multiple formats. Base Pay Range: $135,000 - $155,000

Were committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidates experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
