Your area of work:
As an Intern within the Credit Analysis team at Clearstream, you will gain hands-on exposure to the core disciplines of credit risk assessment and monitoring within a leading financial market infrastructure.
The Risk and Credit Management function works closely with internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and continuously monitor credit risks in order to safeguard Clearstreams financial interests. The team ensures that emerging risks are detected early and that appropriate mitigation measures are implemented in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
You will gain practical experience in evaluating counterparty creditworthiness, analyzing financial data, and understanding risk dynamics in a global financial environment, while contributing to real risk management processes.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the identification and assessment of credit risks.
- Assist in the analysis of financial statements, credit metrics, and counterparty exposures.
- Contribute to the preparation of credit assessments and internal risk reports.
- Support Credit Analysts in their daily work and participate in recurring processes (daily, weekly, and monthly).
- Assist in monitoring portfolio developments and identifying potential risk signals.
- Help improve the teams processes, tools, and documentation through automation and workflow optimization.
- Research and assess the impact of new regulatory requirements on the teams activities.
- Manage documentation and perform administrative tasks.
- Provide support on ad-hoc analyses, requests, and projects.
Your profile:
- You are enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Degree programme with a recognized institution, ideally in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management or a related field, and can provide an internship agreement, OR have graduated with a Bachelors degree or similar for no more than 6 months.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Good command of MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and structured way of working.
- Team player with good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of credit risk concepts (e.g., exposure, limits, collateral) is considered a plus.
