Overview

As a Senior Airflow / Cloud Engineer within our Automation Platforms division, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and supporting enterprise workload automation platforms used across the Bank. You will bridge development and operations by engineering scalable, reliable, and secure automation capabilities using Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, and enterprise scheduling platforms.

You will partner closely with application teams, SREs, and platform stakeholders to improve availability, performance, and automation maturity across hybrid and cloud environments. What Youll Do

  • Design, build, and support enterprise workload automation platforms including Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Control-M, and Automic

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Airflow DAGs, clusters, and orchestration services to improve performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Engineer automation capabilities using Python, REST APIs, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines to support scheduling, orchestration, and ITSM integration

  • Lead integration and onboarding of cloud-based workload automation services across application teams

  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), agile, and ITIL-based teams to improve availability, monitoring, incident response, and change management

  • Identify automation opportunities and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency and platform resilience

Skills Youll Need

  • Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise workload automation platforms such as Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Control-M, or Automic

  • Strong software engineering capability using Python, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design principles

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services including Terraform, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc

  • Solid understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CI/CD) pipelines, cloud deployment patterns, and automation-first engineering practices

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Experience developing Airflow standards, platform guidelines, and performance tuning strategies

  • Familiarity with ITSM and governance tooling such as ServiceNow

  • Experience with configuration management and automation tooling such as Ansible and Git-based workflows

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and influence technical stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within globally distributed teams
