The Strategy team of our Private Bank (PB) division leads the formulation, execution and communication of the strategic direction of the business and supports the regional leadership in aligning their strategy agenda with PB-wide priorities. The team plays a crucial role in business development activities, partners with other areas of PB to ensure effective strategy execution and provides ongoing commercial advice.

Deutsche Bank Private Bank serves Ultra-/High-Net-Worth clients across over 60 markets, supporting entrepreneurs with private and business needs through the ‘Bank for Entrepreneurs’ proposition. Additionally, we provide premium retail banking solutions to European retail and affluent clients in Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shape the strategic direction of the Private Bank and collaborate directly with regional and global leadership, providing exceptional visibility at the highest levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the evolution of PB's strategic agenda, leveraging market intelligence and internal performance insights
  • Support strategic projects and initiatives by taking ownership of selected workstreams and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions on a global scale
  • Participate in strategic planning and target setting in partnership with Finance and COO
  • Contribute to crafting a compelling narrative around PB-wide strategy and its execution
  • Support the preparation for senior management meetings within DB Group, DB PB and with key external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, investors/analysts)
  • Provide support to the executive governance landscape for the Private Bank, incl. Executive Councils, Risk Councils, Operating Councils and Compensation Review Groups

Skills:

  • At least 4 years of previous experience in the financial services industry with focus on personal banking, wealth management, investment banking, corporate strategy or business development, of which at least 2 years in a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Fluency in English and experience in working in an international environment – enabling ability to collaborate with and coordinate teams across functions and countries; Proficiency in German is a plus
  • Proven ability to work with internal stakeholders and effectively engage in constructive discussions to support project outcomes
  • Flexible and adaptable to manage changing priorities and contribute to tasks that are complex, unpredictable and time-sensitive
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial models
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
