Position Overview

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Banks technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Banks technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Banks technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

Our AFC team is responsible for protecting the bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes:

Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals

Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle

Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions

Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow

Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability

Responsibilities

  • Operating as part of a crossfunctional Agile squad, partnering closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and engineering peers to drive delivery of highquality, valuefocused outcome
  • Mentor, coach and train the delivery team in modern engineering practices, striving to ensure that your team can build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste
  • Design, implement and maintain high development standards. Support in defining and implementing clear standards and KPIs for end-to-end software delivery. Ensure wider AFC objectives are included as appropriate.
  • Drive changes in the team and own process improvement initiatives

Skills

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or 10 years+ of relevant industry experience
  • Very experienced with following Tech Stack: Java 8+, Spring, Spring MVC, JSP technology, Hibernate, Angular, Webservices (REST, SOAP), Maven, Git, Jenkins; and prior experience working with Agile software methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong technical vision and hands on experience in software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD
  • Working knowledge micro services-based architectures and ability to develop reusable and performant clean code aligned with good architectural and design principles
  • Ability to manage priorities and conflicting timelines and work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and excellent communication and collaboration skills
