Position Overview

Legal provides legal solutions that protect Deutsche Banks integrity and reputation, manage legal risk, and enable safe, compliant and sustainable business activity. The function partners closely with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Technology and other control functions to support an integrated Groupwide risk management framework.
The Senior Counsel to the General Counsel supports the Global General Counsel on priority legal, regulatory and governance topics and the steering of highimpact legal matters. The role helps set clear priorities, structures complex issues and translates them into concise, decisionready executive options - enabling sound judgement and pace in senior decisionmaking.
Your key responsibilities
Close strategic advisory partnership with the Global General Counsel on material legal, regulatory and governance matters
Costeering, prioritisation and escalation of sensitive and crossjurisdictional legal cases
Preparation of decision papers, executive briefings, talking points and official positions for the General Counsel and senior management
Translation of complex regulatory, litigation and crossborder issues into concise, decisionready executive options
Endtoend ownership of priority topics, structuring ambiguity, driving progress and ensuring disciplined followthrough
Orchestration of the General Counsels agendas, briefings, and followups across senior committees and governance forums
Acting as strategic filter and sounding board, determining what requires General Counsel attention, escalation or delegation
Central interface across Legal leadership, Risk, Compliance and other key control functions to ensure alignment
Contribution to shaping a highperformance, futureready Legal function
Your skills and experiences
Outstanding academic background and extensive relevant professional experience as a fully qualified lawyer with experience in banking, financial services, consultancy or toptier law firm environments
Solid background in banking regulation, litigation, governance, supervisory matters and complex crossborder issues
Strong analytical capabilities and proven ability to structure ambiguity and synthesise complex topics into executivelevel recommendations
Excellent drafting and communication skills with a clear, concise and decisionoriented style
Strong judgement, integrity and confidence in operating with senior stakeholders
Fluent executive communication skills in German and English
