Team / Division Overview
The Liquid Real Assets (LRA) business is part of DWS Alternatives, with the Investment team acting as a fiduciary to direct allocations and selection in the Real Estate, Infrastructure and Commodities securities asset classes. The team manages domestic and global investment products marketed to institutional and retail investors ensuring they adhere to relevant regulatory and governance guidelines. LRA manages approximately USD 29.2 billion AUM.
Within established investment policy guidelines for Infrastructure Equities, the Analyst performs research analysis / views that support the formulation of investment strategies and enhance portfolio performance. To maximize risk-adjusted returns, s/he will leverage a deep understanding of idiosyncratic company drivers as well as industry trends and broader macroeconomic drivers. The analyst will conduct company due-diligence, research meetings and client meetings as required in support of asset management responsibilities
Role Details
As a Portfolio Analyst you will be responsible for:
Assist in developing market level forecasts using input from internal and external research groups to drive sector revenue growth and IRR models
Build and maintain database and models that help determine macro drivers and financial data of companies under coverage
Augment existing investment process on a continual basis
Assist in conducting regular research on existing holdings to ensure they continue to meet stated investment objectives
Meet regularly with, and present recommendations/written summaries to Portfolio Managers; interact with investment management/research staff/brokers/company management/traders/outside investment analysts/etc.
Assist in special projects as defined by portfolio managers and analysts
Build and maintain earnings/valuation models for companies within investment universe
Develop ability to communicate conviction levels on individual stocks held in portfolios for assigned sectors
We are looking for:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience required in a portfolio management, research, advisory or strategy related role with a core focus on the Infrastructure Equities.
Strong statistical and related quantitative data analysis methodologies associated to formulating investment strategies
Strong command of fundamental and economic analysis
Well-versed in risk-management methodology and practices
CFA or progression in CFA is desirable but not necessary
Educated to degree level within a finance related field or equivalent engineering or geology degree

The base salary range for this position in New York is $137,000 to $240,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidates skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
